Andrés Conde: Trinity

A Solo Exhibition & Fundraiser for the Natchez Adams County Humane Society

December 4, 2026 · 6–9 p.m.
Shields Town House · 701 North Union Street, Natchez

Conde Contemporary presents Trinity, a solo exhibition by Andrés Conde and fundraiser benefiting the Natchez Adams County Humane Society (NACHS), a local no-kill animal shelter. Presented at historic Shields Town House, the evening brings contemporary figurative painting into a classical setting, with ticket sales and 20 percent of artwork sales sales supporting animals in the shelter’s care.

Contemporary Painting in a Classical Home

Rooted in Greek mythology, Trinity features oil paintings of women in groupings of three, depicting the Graces, the Fates, and the figures known as the Furies and the Eumenides. Across the series, changes in gesture, posture, and gaze shape the relationships between the figures, giving each composition its own character.

The Greek Revival architecture of Shields Town House offers a fitting setting for these contemporary interpretations of ancient subjects. The home of Stephen and Margaret Perkins, currently stands unfurnished, allowing the paintings and the architecture to be experienced together without the distractions of a furnished interior.

“Shields Town House is the perfect space for Trinity,” says Stacy Conde of Conde Contemporary. “The paintings and the architecture share a classical language. With the house empty, you can fully appreciate the art and the space at once. The architecture gives the paintings room to speak, and the paintings invite you to look at the house with fresh eyes.”

A Birthday with a Purpose

December 4 is also Andrés’ birthday. His affection for animals, particularly dogs, makes the partnership with NACHS deeply personal. He freely admits to feeling more comfortable in their company than in that of his fellow humans, valuing their loyalty and sincerity.

“Animals cannot speak for themselves, and I’m grateful to NACHS for doing so much on their behalf,” says Andrés. “Sharing my work to support their care feels like the perfect way to celebrate my birthday.”

Supporting the Animals in Our Community

The Natchez Adams County Humane Society provides shelter and care for lost, injured, abandoned, and abused animals, working to find them homes through adoption, fostering, and transport. For a shelter consistently at capacity, the daily demands of feeding, housing, and veterinary care make community support essential.

“Our shelter is consistently at capacity, and feeding the adult dogs alone takes 100 pounds of dog food every day,” says Lyn Jenkins, NACHS board member and director of the Natchez Adams County Chamber of Commerce. “That is before veterinary care and all the other daily needs of the animals entrusted to us. Andrés’ generosity, and the support of everyone who attends or purchases a painting, will help us continue providing that care while we work to find these animals loving homes.”
