The best collectors understand this instinctively. They are not simply acquiring objects. They are curating an experience. They are shaping the emotional atmosphere in which their lives unfold.

The most interesting collections I've encountered are not necessarily the largest, the most valuable, or the most academically important. They're the ones that reveal something about the person who assembled them.

In an age of disposable goods and planned obsolescence, Poverty by Design explores how craftsmanship, quality, and generational thinking can create lasting value, strengthen creative economies, and transform the way we collect, consume, and live.

Contemporary Cuban artist Danco Duportai García explores memory, identity, and personal history through The Miniature Portrait Project, an ongoing series of intimate oil paintings that revive the tradition of portrait miniatures. Each work transforms fleeting moments, treasured objects, and individual likenesses into carefully rendered tokens of memory.

We've been asked to give a talk, Collecting on A Budget, to a group we're delighted to host, Women United, "...a global force of 70,000 plus women dedicated to creating a world of opportunity, for everyone", at the gallery this month for a reception, talk and preview of the upcoming exhibition, "Return to Order", which opens on Friday, November 30th.
